Academic Advising Committee Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare the committee’s annual operational plan according to specified templates, and continuously monitor the implementation of the plan’s projects and track their indicators.

  2. Develop the academic advising plan for the program and supervise its implementation.

  3. Distribute new students among faculty members, while continuing the assignment of returning students with their previous advisors at the beginning of each semester.

  4. Oversee orientation and preparatory programs for new students to introduce the study system and examinations.

  5. Identify outstanding and struggling students and provide appropriate support and guidance.

  6. Follow up on advising reports submitted by academic advisors and submit a detailed report to the department or college council of the respective program for approval.

  7. Promote and enhance the culture of academic advising among program members.

  8. Identify and provide academic advising programs and services that contribute to improving students’ academic performance and addressing their social issues.

  9. Prepare follow-up reports and the annual report on the implementation of the operational plan, including an improvement plan for the current year.

  10. Accomplish all tasks assigned to the committee related to its scope and submit appropriate proposals regarding them.
