Committee Responsibilities - College of Nursing
Graduate Studies Unit Responsibilities:

Prepare the committee’s annual operational plan according to specified templates, continuously monitor the implementation of the plan’s projects, and track their indicators.

Propose the development and introduction of new graduate programs based on labor market needs and the Kingdom’s economic and social development requirements, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the university’s strategic plan.

Coordinate with the Deanship of Scientific Research and the university’s research centers through the relevant college vice dean regarding all research procedures and provide appropriate support in accordance with established regulations.

Encourage faculty members to submit research proposals to funding bodies.

Review research proposals submitted by faculty members to the Deanship of Scientific Research to ensure alignment with the research interests pursued by the department.

Review graduate students’ research proposals to ensure adherence to research methodologies and alignment with departmental research interests that serve the university and community.

Develop and optimally utilize the department’s research laboratories in all research-related activities.

Provide necessary support for teaching assistants seeking scholarships to universities with distinguished academic reputations and high international rankings.

Offer assistance to scholarship-holding teaching assistants and propose solutions to challenges encountered in their studies and research.

Encourage faculty members to publish their research in internationally indexed scientific journals.

Prepare follow-up reports and the annual report on the implementation of the operational plan, including an improvement plan for the following year.

Conduct admission tests for graduate applicants to the college and recommend their acceptance to the college council.

Provide academic advising to graduate students.

Review student requests regarding additional opportunities, re-enrollment, etc., and submit them to the college council.

Review proposals related to Master’s and Doctoral theses and submit them to the college council.

Propose the distribution of courses among the college’s faculty members.

Propose the number of students that can be admitted in upcoming academic years.

Fulfill departmental needs for teaching assistants and ensure their scholarships to prestigious universities with high global rankings to achieve a high future performance level for faculty members.

Promote enrollment in graduate studies for local and international university graduates, and develop the capacities of faculty members and supporting staff in graduate studies to ensure quality scientific and research performance.

Enhance the college’s efficiency and effectiveness as a distinguished research center fostering participation and collaboration with educational and research institutions and community organizations at local, regional, and global levels. The unit also works on developing new and innovative research fields in rare and distinguished specializations.

Attract distinguished faculty members and researchers across various specialties to improve academic performance, increase scientific publication rates, and encourage participation in scientific conferences.

Carry out all tasks assigned to the committee related to its scope, study all referred matters, and submit appropriate proposals or make relevant decisions.
